Monday, May 31 to Saturday, June 5
Trail trans-Aquitaine, 220 km 6 steps.

One of my biggest challenges this year: the stage race. if the trek to Morocco was a repetition, This time, it is indeed a race. A deal wisely!
Objective: reach the finish in relatively good shape.

Trans QA 'follows the Aquitaine coast from North to South
The course is predominantly forest (85%) and on the beach at low tide as as possible.
In the forest, they are mostly sandy paths more or less, depending on the advanced state of drought, among other factors. But also, trails stable, rare tracks concrete or asphalt (5 to 10% of the total distance). Sometimes swampy paths. Contrary to popular belief, there is relief, the roads are often very hilly!
La Dune du Pyla (115 m) is the program and some dune crossings to link beach and forest.
In sunlight of June on the beaches and in clearings in shadow in the undergrowth.

For my first stage race experience and autonomy, I must prepare myself seriously. Not very physical side, because the training background is present, but convenience and organization. We must anticipate everything: sleeping, food, hygiene, pharmacy, forgetting the superfluous, favoring lighter and less bulky. Everything must fit in the backpack, supplemented for the occasion by his party "bag before." The whole thing must weigh a min of 3.5 kg and a maximum of 7kg. An additional bag with food for 3 days, should be max 3kg. And the organizers were not kidding, this is the gram! Everything is ready on paper and in my head for a good week already, but, as is my habit, it will be the last minute, the day of departure, that I really put to the task: ALL weighed, put in bags, food per meal, per day, label, everything fit in the bag ... is like a little puzzle that is almost day!

Depart Saturday, May 29 in Luxembourg, with Isabella, by train via Paris to Bordeaux. Party under the sun, we arrived in the gray! Global warming, I imagined otherwise ...! Well, never mind, we will do so with or without the sun ....
Bordeaux St-Jean, we follow the guidance of Gerard (Gerard Caupène, organizer) " ... you know who you, you all look weird ... . He was right, the guy, I do not know why, but we immediately saw that participated in this "expedition"!
transfer by bus to Montalivet camp starting.

Sunday, May 30
Rain, wind and greyness we welcome this first day in the Landes. Collection of numbers, marking the indelible (for me, because I forgot to do at home ...) the race number on everything that is in the bag that held me a good half hour, relax by the already familiar with any competitor.
Weighing bags: fateful moment. Bag limit: 6, 460 kg, is good; extra bag: 3,000 kg battery! Phew! Filing of the bag.
Noon, lunch on the beach and met with the team "Together for Chloe, Nadia, Michel, Jean-Luc and Olivier with whom we share this adventure for a good cause. Very nice, the current passes away and we spend the afternoon together in discovering the purpose of this association.
18h: briefing, followed by the Pasta-Party, handed the road book for the first step. From this moment we are in total autonomy (except for water that is provided regularly: 1.5 l + morning and evening for refreshments). And then sleep, all in the hall! It promises, it does not already sleep a lot. ... Chairs, boxes, everything is good to play the SDF.

Monday, May 31
Step 1: Montalivet / Hourtin - 31.1 km and 170 m in altitude (+ or -)
woke up early (daylight through the transparent roof, continuous circulation to the toilet ....), breakfast, and wait. The weather was overcast and cool, light drizzle and wind. Departure is at 10am on the beach. But as everyone is present and ready, will take off a few minutes earlier so you do not leave us "stupid" we cool. This time, it's gone! We start with 3 miles of beach that we will soon be warm and down jacket.
I take my own pace nicely, making a lot of miles alone, without considering others. Passage in the beautiful pine forests of the Landes, return on the beach, forest, bicycle, small hilly trails along the lake and arrived at the Forest House The Gracious. We taste the deep sand and a few nice bumps not very high. The weather improved throughout the day, with beautiful sunny periods. For convenience, we have the lake to soak and small laundry (Brrrrr! No hot water ... I'm chilly! But I found one too cautious than I, for once. Is not Jean-Luc?), and our tent up already, "flower", 11 EDEN (tents are grouped into flower by 3, with only one gas). A good soup and a little rest, there is nothing else to do besides! Organization in the tents: it's a little mess in everyone! :-)
Our two teams have arrived: Together for a Chloe with Nadia, Jean-Luc Olivier and trying to top the ranking and Together with Isabelle Chloe 2, Michel and Bernard trying to finish reasonable daily.
Rating: overall, I finished 70 th of 153 arrived in 3h48'17 and our team 13 e of 20. There was an abandonment.

By late afternoon, as will the daily debriefing of the day's stage, presenting the next day's stage and distribution of the road book.

Tuesday, June 1
Step 2: Hourtin / Lacanau Ocean - 38.6 km and 535 m in altitude.
It rained all night, but the ground is slightly damp. I do not have much shut eye, having stalled on a comfortable mat! The weather is mild, cloudy and dry. Starting at 8:30. Footpaths, cap .... I moderate my stride, thinking about the next step of a long (56km) it will provide. A little walk in the ribs and the passage of deep sand (many ....) Where it is difficult to run without risking running out for days. volunteers are very friendly to different parts of the circuit, which is very well marked. hard to lose. Virtually every step in the forest, but the sand on all roads, with a few passages on bike paths. Passage around Lake Lacanau, with a nice hill to cross a few km from the finish at the Maison Forestiere du Lion. My statement is correct, no sores, no special fatigue. Number (s) already have your feet "blistered". The sun made a few appearances welcome at camp. Cleanliness, to pump ... (well ... cold water!).
Feet of Nadia: What Will it dévouvrir?

Gerard Caupène, organizer and Sue (faithful translator) at the briefing

Rating: to I usually win 6 seats: 64 out of 149 e arrived in 5h14'31 and our team 12 e of 20. There were 2 dropouts.

Our camp is organized by Michel carries hardware and groceries (lots of useless stuff ...), Oliver is responsible for ridding other food surplus, Isa still looking after something or the other or unravels his bags Tea, Nadia looks after his blistered feet, Jean-Luc takes its role as press relations, "and as for me, I provided the pharmacy!

Wednesday, June 2
Step 3 (long): Lacanau Ocean / Pointe du Cap Ferret - 56.2 km and 260 m in altitude.
There were still a few showers overnight. I slept intermittently, constantly doing the "pan" to find a position comfortable. " The temperature is mild, the sun is announced.
departures in two waves at 7.30 and 9am. The top 60 ranked go after the rest of the pack, so that arrivals are grouped as possible. I start reasonably quickly and find myself ... 3 e the race! This is the first time you told me that I'm a score 3 e! Temporarily, of course, but for a large part of the stage. The advantage is to go where the sand is not too disturbed. The sun peaks and the temperature rises, which pleased me, I expected that! I do a lot of miles alone at my pace. Enough stock routes, beautiful passage along a canal, with less sandy paths; much undergrowth, and a nice big sandy coast well to curb the enthusiasm; few "roller coaster" when I tap a good "extra push," I walk to recover, by eating to catch up the "juice" the first in the ranking are catching up, it restarts slowly; ravito; attack on a beautiful dune cuts my legs and the end of step with ... 14 km of beach! fatigue is there, I alternate walking and running is a long time, but I take my breakfast and ends at steady pace beside the water where the sand is the least soft, without me double unduly. The last few hundred meters are very painful, we must back across the beach, hit the brake in the deep sand, but superb panorama of the beach at Cap Ferret and Arcachon!

Rating: good progress anyway: in general, I won 12 seats: 52 e of 143 arrived in 7h14'52 and our team 11 e of 20. Super! There were 6 dropouts.

Bivouac, windy, blue skies, sunshine, the ocean nearby. The Dune du Pyla in front, taunting us, big difficulty of the next night, Thursday night. Magnificent sunset over the ocean, a real vacation, whatever!

Thursday, June 3
Step 4 (night): Le Pyla sur Mer / La Salie North - 39.2 km and 690 m in altitude. Starting at 21 pm
This time, the great sun in the morning. Rest day. No pains of yesterday's stage, I am very confident that "pass" good. Refill the bag after the extra bag, again for three days. Pampering for those who are concerned, make his meals, and relaxing! But if we seem to have much time before us, in fact with all these little things to do, it happens relatively quickly.
Briefing: good news, the stage will be shorter than 5 km Following some roads impassable. Late afternoon, the transfer for the night stage, on the other side of the Arcachon basin that we cross in small groups in the zodiac, the departure of a small private cove that makes you want to stay there! A nice little pleasant ... Picnic on the other side, relaxing, eating, waiting for departure time. It's really beautiful. Some information to passers who wonder what are these "strange people" .... 21h. He yet clear. Here we go. Part fairly rolling, I find myself with .... Nadia, then Anne, the first women. Whew, not too fast, I? Maybe slow down a bit. ... Then, late in the forest, and stands immediately before us the famous Dune du Pyla: a wall of sand to climb slowly, even on all fours, do 3 not to rise by 1 a real test. Here it quiet! Reaching the end of this climb. ... Well it goes again, the summit is not reached. Then, it is almost 3 km of very soft sand, but with a beautiful sunset! Some spectators (some hoping to find some peace ... in love ...) we encourage all my heart. Then forest undergrowth, ferns, it is stock, with not too much sand. My frontal test (thank you Yannick ...) gives full satisfaction, acting as a "long range" compared to some other "small lights (especially for those (those ...) that have not been sighted in Battery Is ... Isa not it?). It's very reassuring. Especially when you hear a thud in the distance ... which is growing .... To lead at the last moment on .... a pumping oil! I run a long time virtually alone, and at times forms in the beam of my lamp a light mist of sand: I caught competitors. This phenomenon occurs repeatedly, it's very motivating. The last miles are rolling less than expected, sand and ribs are back. Final on a paved runway, is appreciated for once. We are then three, the competitor throws me my height " Sprint? "I reflected" Chiche ? "and go for 150m madness. It's been a very foolish, and I am 10m in advance. There is a
no water to cool off and wash his face and a soup is offered, great! Difficult to sleep on, it takes a bit ... and find unzip the tent!

Rating: overall: 54 e of 141 arrived in 4h51'12 and our team 11 e of 20. There were 2 dropouts.

Friday, June 4
Step 5: Mimizan Beach / St Julien en Born - 24.5 km and 303 m in altitude - Departure at 10:30.
Night short, but quality! Up at 7:30, because we have a transfer by bus around 1:15 to Mimizan to avoid and circumvent a military area. Sun! The first half-step is rolling, and I feel really good. And this euphoria from me too quickly. The second part will be significantly less easy, I blame a lack of punch and a slight discomfort in his left leg, and always very nice and soft sand and very deep. It is very hot and I do not force beyond measure to avoid possible injury, we're almost at the end of our adventure. A few miles, I'm lack of water, having forgotten to fill my pocket Water ravito precedent. Fortunately, the "nice organizers" had planned the coup (see the beautiful rise of temperature) and water make me feel welcome and allow me to finish my race properly.

Rating: overall: 68 e of 138 arrived in 3h20'44 and our team 11 e of 20. There were 3 dropouts.

Side camp, we are in a very well equipped campsite. A good shower beneficial. And we are pleased to have the visit of Chloe and her little family time with emotion, presentation and pleasure to share this experience.

Saturday, June 5
Step 6 (final): St Julien en Born / St Girons Beach - 26.6 km and 306 m in altitude. Departure at 9 am
Night sweet, still that discomfort in the hips, so not much sleep ... (that's for sure, next time I will have a cushion comfortable!). Again, full sun! Last step, is already more than satisfied with my ranking (unexpected, even ...), I decided to make it cool, with Isabelle and Gerard. The terrain is rolling, less sandy paths covered with pine needles, though flexible, shaded passages in "roller coaster". The beach is in sight, more than 3km. Isa had already accelerated the pace slightly, to go to the competitor. I hang up, it accelerates again, beach, soft sand, it takes a wave right into the feet, it flounders, wet feet, the sand that sticks, we stand; more than 200m, crossing the beach under the encouragement, that's it, it's the end of the adventure, the last pass under the arch! Directorate buffet, good beer, sausage, cheese, applauded the latest arrivals, just as deserving. A nice little restaurant on the terrace by the sea ... Then to the campsite, the bungalow, a good well-deserved shower, retrieve her bag and prepare. ... To party!
An organizer happy!

Rating: overall: 64 e of 137 arrived in 3h19'37; team e 7 out of 17. It There was an abandonment.

FINAL Standings: overall: 55 of 137 e arrived - 27h49'13 - 7 th 21 in V2M
There were 15 dropouts in total, a record "minimum".

Together for a Chloe : 3 e
Olivier Goudet: 18 e
Giraudoux Jean-Luc: 32 e
Nadia Vételé: 41 e, 2 e woman

Together for Chloe 2: 11 th
Bernard Rongvaux: 55 e
Isabelle Michalak : 80 th
Michel Picard: 109 e

The day ended with the awards ceremony, a good meal and an evening musically. These good times were shared with the family of Chloe, who had wanted to be present on arrival and evening.
Together for Chloe!

My special congratulations to Michael, not accustomed to long races, receiving only one drive all relative, and covering his shoulders the ranking of our team (the ranking of 3 e is taken into account) was not unworthy and arrived at the end with determination and consistency, assuring us of a more than respectable ranking!

For the record, I had to make the return journey of my shoes sneakers "race," I is not coming in version "city", my feet have taken one to two extra sizes ...
And so dreaded "flat flies," deemed so voracious, have made a timid appearance, much to our relief, we hoot peace Royal .

Review: very good and nice experience, although there are always a few things to improve. Good management of the effort, since there is concern came disrupt my race. Moreover, for a first, I hoped not even be classified as well.

Very good experience meeting and also a fun team, through the association "Together for Chloe, who I took a real pleasure, real extra motivation and I will not hesitate to renew to the opportunity. All my encouragement and my support for Christine and Stephane (Chloe's mom and dad) and all the people around them.

"A great adventure of 220 km in six days.
Trans Aq 'is first and foremost a sporting event, oh so demanding! If brotherhood, friendship, adventure and atmosphere are the keywords for this race, there is also a question of wounds and bumps, or at least blisters and cramps. Browse 220 km in six days, self-sufficiency, with all its equipment (clothing, sleeping bag ...) and food (three days) on the back, is indeed beyond the reach of anybody.
Two teams of Isabelle, Nadia, Bernard, Jean-Luc, Michel and Olivier, from Tours, Perpignan, Ile de France, Belgium and Luxembourg were the Trans'Aq to help Chloe.
In solidarity, to raise money and help his family to fund a treatment that amounts to about 30,000 euros per year. They had all promised to follow through. It is an extraordinary athletic feat!
A team is on the podium and Nadia came 2nd in the women!
Chloe could only be present for the final step, this Saturday, June 5 at St. Girons!

Thank you all for Isabel, Nadia, Bernard, Jean-Luc, Michel and Olivier had run to help a little Chloe in his quest for autonomy! "

Lump Of Mucus Came Out My Nose

Cardiac Move: from Coldplay to Christianity

- By Matthias -

We're back on the blog to comment on the first album of Cardiac Move, "The Sixth Seal from Sony music. This young band with obvious influences Austrian, Coldplay to reveal nothing, gives us his first album that has, for some of its tracks, nothing from the big productions.

The five companions offer us a gentle and worked his ear. When listening to this album, it quickly catches himself humming with them colorful melodies that carry us. However, let there be no mistake, the quality of their art and reputation of their label are not there to hide their beliefs: a Christian faith that has led him to perform at the Easter Festival in Chartres.

Cardiac Move quickly is to discover, or rediscover.

"Movements of the heart" guaranteed!
