I have a little help in love with this trail, because it marked my debut true trail, in February 2008 following my entry to the CCC. So I had to "go there", the leap of nature long races. I do not keep an indelible, if not the beauty of the course and my difficulties to reach the finish with cramps in the last 5 kms. I then completed the 37 km in 4:20.

For this third edition, after passing 40 km in 2009 (a portion of "road" added one still wonders why ...), the organizers made the wise decision to return to the original trail is 37 km. And if the difference is not so, it nevertheless remains some passages bodied, all being relatively quick. Only problem for quite a few competitors: too close to Christmas, that does not eliminate all the small excess ...
The problem will be solved for the next edition which is already announced on 12 December 2010 ....!

This time I am determined to do my race: I layer my rhythm on anyone, no photos running, no unnecessary accessories, I can only deal with my race management. Despite the 6 pit stops planned, I go with the camel-back, deciding to zap a ravito to 2, this is my race tactics.

A veil of snow fell, just enough to whiten the landscape and roads. The start is in a beautiful white shower will not last not, the temperature is several degrees below zero, little wind, good racing conditions (for me anyway).
After a cautious start but not too slow, several exceedances downhill (where I took the opportunity to refine my technique comes ...), the first ravito the 6th km, I zap and find myself with a group who leaves but seems a bit fast at the outset. Indeed, a few cables is the separation from 21 to 37 and those embarking on the small course. And suddenly, the field emerges, few competitors are visible to me.
The pace is good, beats stabilized, Small bumps are linked together without difficulty. Field blank, simply keep track of my pédécesseurs for the ideal path. Nevertheless, some passages are icy, ruts and puddles frozen and caution is always appropriate.
I feel my race without ever looking at my watch (or cardio, or GPS, only the "profile" with the mileage and ravitos dotted with me), stopping as planned at a ravito two for a snack cake and drink some coca tea.
Kilometres follow each other quickly, without loss of power, the sensations are very good. Only good two coasts will be addressed in part by walking, history does not toast my cartridges. This allows me to meet David Sutter, Thionvillois, which is lagging behind, but with mitigating circumstances after his expedition in Nepal ..
This time, I sleep well at identifying the signs not to miss a passage (like last year ...). Fortunately, because I do quite a few km away.
The last portion (5 km), one of the most beautiful passages (narrow, winding paths, slippery steps, roots and rocks) will be covered in motivating me constantly internally, not letting go, as I have the unfortunate usually on the limit. Well take me, the finish line in sight, no weakness is not always apparent (or cramps ...) and it is with real pleasure that I crossed the blue arch a few seconds after the passage of 03:30. I never bet on this outcome, 3:45, 3:50 or even seemed more realistic! This will be a
of my best results to date! The year 2010 begins
great!

RESULTS: 20 of 82 e - 3:30:21 - (5:37 / km) - 10.68 km / h - 4 of 13 e VE2
