How To Find The Vajina

"The Journey Folio SF 10 new" - Collection of new

released to celebrate 10 years of SF Collection Folio, it is a pleasure and honor that I have this code sent by Gallimard (Folio and therefore SF). Here we find a new set of very nice and who can argue visit!

+ + + The back cover + + +

In October 2000 the odyssey begins: Folio SF ship cast off, with on board thirty books including Foundation, Fahrenheit 451, Nine Princes in Amber , The Carrion , Frankenstein , Gandahar , Martians Go Home! , Substance or Death The Guide to the Galaxy - all classics major. October 2010. Ten years and three hundred and fifty titles later, the adventure continues. With The Horde Contrevent Alain Damasio The Way of the Sword Thomas Day, Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom by Cory Doctorow , Separation Christopher Priest Spin by Robert Charles Wilson and many others, the ideal library has grown.

+ + + News + + +

Anthology made to celebrate 10 years of Folio SF, this book is for me a pleasant surprise. The kind of book that is expected to be average, rather a promotional item that a book in itself, eventually emerging as a very good collection of short stories. A book that have me surprised, though like any anthology, not everything is perfect ... but continue on the news.

The book begins with the news of Mary Gentle : "The Road to Jerusalem" . One author I've never read and that I appreciated, unlike other bloggers. This little side uchronic me well more on a new last long enough, somewhere between fantasy and SF. In short, nice but not enough to say: "Ouaw. Maybe try I "The Book of Ash" one day?

Jean-Philippe Jaworski takes after him with a fairly short text: "Kennigar" . We are in full Nordic fable and it's pretty nice. However, the text is too short, and if I find out who's like that, it would be too soon forgotten. This leaves me with my hunger. Maybe it's time I tackle "Winning the war" ? In the meantime, I recommend reading "Janua Verra" or Jaworski excels in the new format. Chronicle here in these pages.

"The constructor" of Philip K. Dick is friendly with a man obsessed with creating a wooden vessel to the particular forms. Should I jump that in his work to better immerse myself in his style and soak up? In my opinion, another new would have done better ... The text of

Maia Mazaurette called "Chronos" is made rather in science fiction, unlike his last book in Folio SF is fantasy. Here, it accompanies a woman who wants to acquire its former glory, eternal youth. But what he left to get there? While writing the text is nice but not flamboyant. We will see what will happen when I get into one of his works long.

"vestige" of Christopher Priest exudes a certain beauty, a beautiful dreamlike ... But probably too tired I do not really have done a good job back in it. However, I keep my previous readings Christopher Priest a funny feeling that I was not strongly hooked. It will try again another day perhaps ... The text of

Thomas Day, "ethology of the Tiger" is for me the best of this collection in at least one of the best. The latest texts read by this author give me frankly want to retry the adventure with him, especially since I found the text more wealth than it seems. A story well done and contains a certain beauty. With this kind of text, Thomas Day reaches a certain mastery of his writing. Let's hope it lasts!

"Passengers" of Robert Silverberg is also one of the leading group. A fine text on a schizophrenic world or love has no place eventually. A super well written text and demonstrates Silverberg that was also an excellent short story! All this confirms my desire to reread the Silverberg elsewhere ...

followed by a text Ray Bradbury , text a bit short, which left me on my hunger. "The cement mixer mafiosi" is certainly very nice, but not to the point of the pin among others. So little disappointment here.

Stéphane Beauverger us a fairly short text entitled "OKW" . A new a little short for my taste but that is not too bad. It will give him a good grade average at best? Remember to read "The Déchronologue" of the author, one of my favorites, 2010, and a book to be published by Folio SF in March I think. The latter is reviewed here . A

ends on a high note with news that my favorite author at the time, I appointed Robert Charles Wilson . His new "utriusque Cosmi" revolve around in his work created by "Spin" and "Axis" , you will find chronicled here . Knowing that "Spin" is one of my favorites, 2010, hard to speak ill of "utriusque Cosmi" , especially here in the future is tilted and the other side, one that seems to be that of Hypothetical ... which themselves are facing a threat. The game of size and time scales and distances is interesting. A very good text, but not reinventing anything for those who have read "Spin" or his other books. Anyway, I want to read "The passenger vessel" the coup ...

Finally, note that y 'between each new short texts written by authors who are not SF. They say they each turn their joy of reading this kind of literature or what it has brought them once when they were young. If the texts are written for some goods, it has sometimes printing after reading all the literature fashionable finally gives some nice letters to the serialized novel. But here I am my bad language because it was not the goal but rather to the SF in the spotlight and what has made this kind of literature in general. A good idea to put it into text Chainas Antoine, Antoine Bello, Tristan Garcia, Jean-Baptiste Del Amo, Mathieu Terence, Marie Darrieussecq, and Jean-Pierre Luminet.

Finally I thank Gallimard who sent me this book for 10 years from his collection Folio SF. Good birthday and good luck!

Biffy Clyro Piano Music

"The trick rider" Walter Jon Williams

Received in partnership with Editions L'Atalante and Livraddict , this book allowed me to finally discover an author Renowned sphere SF: Walter Jon Williams . Although the so thank you for this nice discovery of intelligent SF.

+ + + The back cover + + +

Two miracles have opened to men the way of the Stars: An inexhaustible energy source and the secret of immortality. However, isolated by the barrier speed of light, the colonies become sclerotic; about immortality, it distills its insidious poison: boredom ...

Alone owner of a depopulated Earth by galactic diaspora, Doran Falkner, the author of two miracles, in seeking a third to lead humanity out of its torpor. The answer lies perhaps in the world Amaterasu, where placid animals seem able to teleport like the rider flying over the chessboard squares. Unless the centaurs ...?

+ + + + + + My opinion

Considered an excellent writer, which moreover has a very nice pen, Walter Jon Williams has unfortunately until now really caught our Francophone world. And yet he seems to have some good books to his credit, and under different genres too, of which his "Cable + considered a classic stone building cyberpunk.

But back to present his book here: "The Strike Rider" . Released in 1985, it is translated and published here in 2010. It therefore y 'a long hiatus between now and our English speaking, but delay is caught for our pleasure. We also thank the L'Atalante editions of this book we make available to the author, and "This is not a game" released the same year but written more recently.

"The trick rider" evolves against a background of fairly classic SF that is not without recalling the literary world of Robert Silverberg . But against this background hackneyed, Walter Jon Williams the opportunity to discuss and reflect quietly on the Rights and its contradictions without being moralistic or condescending, and even with some humor near a Iain M. Banks . It certainly there 's an adventure with interstellar travel and the search for why these animals, the lugs of Amaterasu, get to teleport. The kind of knowledge that would enable humanity to move instantly from here to there, breaking down the barriers of time and distance at once, causing a lot of future complications. Y Will he see a parallel with neo-liberalism and the collapse of all barriers? I do not know ...

Walter Jon Williams can give the thickness his characters, like a Roger Zelazny , it can create heroes while depth and questioning themselves. Introspection and reflection is what makes the strength of this book, people issues are also more forward as the adventure itself. Questions concerning immortality and mortality, love of life and its risks, reactions and confrontations of ideas, etc.. The discussion of purpose between alien and understanding of the other remakes me think "The star and the whip" to Frank Herbert and questions about the Other. In short a book rich with no lot of topics.

Finally we take a good book in hand, but even if I do not yet know the author well, "The trick rider" is perhaps not my favorite. Maybe it's to cover Genki I find it quite horrible (too computer made), knowing that the graphics of a book can influence felt quite that I 've. It's silly, but true. Nevertheless, I still quite like to continue to discover the author's bibliography American probably underrated here.

+ + + + + + But still

This reading is a partnership created with editions of L'Atalante I warmly thank for this discovery and Livraddict who organized it.

Get Well Card For Cancer Patient

Statistically speaking ... The 2010 balance sheet

Following a tag launched by Guillaume44, better known by his blog "Star Tracker" , now is the time statistics.

+ + + The most viewed pages + + + Lien
While the most viewed pages, which are not necessarily the most read or even the Most Discussed are the following tickets:

1. "Fancy Space Opera"
2. "A garden in Appalachia" by Barbara Kingsolver
3. "The Déchronologue" of Stépahne Beauverger
4. "Fourth Floor" by Nicolas Ancion
5. "Back on the horizon" - anthology directed by Serge Lehman
6. "The shadow of the murderer" of James Clemens
7. "King Star" by Edmond Hamilton
8. "Spin" by Robert Charles Wilson
9. "Third Testament" by Xavier and Alex Alice Dorison
10. "Erase" Percival Everett

In these, there are articles with little or no commentary, as Baraba Kingsolver, Nicolas Ancion or Percival Everett , which are books so-called white literature . So it is a literature that raises my score hits, particularly via Google searches. Like comics with "The third Testament . And of course the general section of proposed titles "Fancy Space Opera" . But there are still shots of 2010 with Hearts "Déchronologue" and "Spin" . By cons

my stats do not give me the least read the articles. Fortunately for my morale hehe.

+ + + sources of traffic + + +

Based on stats from Blogger (which began in May 2010) and Blogcounter, there are some different sources.

sites of origin of major tours are : Google Livraddict , Netvibes, Facebook, etc.. See sites such as The Circle Atuan the blog Hugin and Munin, the EFEL blog, the blog RSF The blog Moons Ink (Denoël editions) the Blog Papothé the blog Arutha, the Cachou blog, the blog of Lord Orkan van Deck the blog Galactic Dragon the blog Myrddin, the SF Blog Plante, the Forum Publishing Belial, the forum ActuSF etc.
The amount of visits ranging from one to the other . Google visits the maximum cash of course!

But where are my visitors? For most of France followed by the Belgians. Then it varies. But here, my stats do not provide percentage, but just quantity. And I'm a bit lazy as to make the calculations.

How do they find the blog? course, this depends on the keywords used in Google. But then, I have no details, this must remain in contact with the most popular tickets.

With what do they sail? For 75% they are still running Windows, 11% are hardworking and happy users of Linux on a par with the 11% of browsers on Macintosh. And in different proportions minimal there are different mobile technologies.
The most used browser is Firefox (52%), which is very good view of their (long live free software !!!), followed by Internet Explorer (31%), Chromium (8%), Safari (5%), etc. . (Stats are from Blogger in this case)

+ + + The number of visits + + +

As of today, I passed the 11,000 visits. I set up my counter Blogcounter in January 2010 if I'm not mistaken, and the time to gently fold into each ticket (as it should be!), I came to the account where I am Today more than 11000 visits. I come over time to ride an average of 55 visits per day (in December). Not bad given the modest side of my blog and the fact that I do not really have a chronic BCF or winning big guns of white literature. Finally, I am happy with this volume!

But already know that one does not write his own ticket alone is already a real pleasure! So thank you to you all for your visits in 2010.

Dot On Clearblue Pregnancy Test

we go, start with a old: HAPPY NEW YEAR . And this year 2011 be full of good reading and many other things. I warmly thank all those who have followed and continue to follow my humble blog. Hoping still read with delight many of your comments because this is the kind of thing that is always an enormous pleasure.

+ + + Changes in literary blog + + +

This past year 2010 marked the transition from blog to blog entirely literary, where it was mixed before: loved books and exchange music. In short, 2010 was a course and progressive integration in the blogosphere writing from the imagination. Make a list of all these blogs and all the people with whom I could create links, even minors, over the web would be difficult. Not that the list is huge, but I'd be too afraid of losing one or one of you!

+ + + The authors discovered in 2010 + + +

This past year was marked by the discovery of a number of authors: Robert Charles Wilson, John Fante, Greg Egan Mathias Enard, Cormac McCarthy, Roland C. Wagner, Nicolas Ancion, Stephane Beauverger, Edmond Hamilton, Ayerdhal, Jean-Philippe Jaworski, Richard Brautigan, Brian Aldiss, Connie Willis, Barbara Hambly, Iain M. Banks, Leo Tolstoy, Catherine Dufour, Paul Emond, James Clemens, Yukio Mishima, Ryu Murakami, Lucius Shepard, Loevenbruck Henry, Sarah Ash, Wayne Barrow, John Scalzi, Nicolas Jaillet, Robert Holdstock , and many others. Slightly more than 30 authors.

Besides the authors I read but I already knew as Thomas Day, Pierre Rabhi, Terry Pratchett, Cordwainer Smith, Ted Chiang, HP Lovecraft, Robert Silverberg, Roger Zelazny, Luis Sepulveda, Frank Herbert, GRR Martin Philip K. Dick, Melanie Fazi, Yoko Ogawa, Yasmina Khadra, and Percival Everett . Or 16 authors of more (if my accounts are good).

short a total of over 46 authors read. A little more because There are a few authors whose names are testing are not included, or comics whose authors do not mention it (even chronicled not every time).

The best discovery for me was level author Robert Charles Wilson , and probably the author I had the opportunity to deepen more in the year 2010 through 4 pounds .

and not far behind, There are other authors I have discovered and also that I fell in love like Jean-Philippe Jaworski Ayerdhal, Roland C. Wagner, Iain M. Banks, Robert Holdstock, Nicolas Ancion, ... And I hope to return to the other authors of this list.

This year 2010 also marks the first year of my proofreading with first "Man in the Maze" of Robert Silverberg , "The Man in the High Castle" of PK Dick and "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" of HP Lovecraft .

+ + + My best reads in 2010 + + +

my favorite books in 2010 are not necessarily out of 2010. Part of my books sometimes doing an internship sooner or later in my PAL before being read, while others are opportunities, etc..

short, it says, what were my best reads? What are your picks? My short list:

- "The Chronolithes" by Robert Charles Wilson
- "Spin" by Robert Charles Wilson
- "The Déchronologue" of Stépahne Beauverger
- "The Mythago Wood" by Robert Holdstock
- "Janua Vera Jean-Philippe Jaworski
- "Man Games" by Iain M. Banks
- "We are all Playmobil" by Nicolas Ancion

Ok, I stop my list there. It's not bad in itself.

After counting, it turns out that I have read a minimum of 68 pounds . To this we must add the finish Thursday (Walter Jon Williams) and will be chronicled in 2011, and the few comics that I borrow from the library but I did not chronic. In short, all that to get to the fact that I have come to exceed my personal challenge was to read at least 52 pounds, an average of 1 week. I am very happy and surprised at the volume I've read this past year of 2010.

+ + + + + + Finally

Regarding my personal challenge which aimed to reduce my PAL, well it missed. This has easily doubled in size, but without too much remorse. For cons, I can say that in this batch, I expect a very large quantity of used books. For two reasons, I give a second life to books, and then not having a job, the circuit-hand books gives me a good price.

If you count the fact that my blog was born on 1 August 2008, one might say it begins to age and acquires a certain literary identity. I hope now to continue. Either here on Blogger, or later on a new interface ... We'll see. Anyway, thank you for continuing to follow me!

In the coming days will follow a ticket for my 2011 predictions blog. And a ticket that will cover my stats in response to the tag introduced by William the Star Tracker.

Pending the coming days, keep reading, do not take cold, treat you well and live happy (well, if possible), and much to everyone.
