+ + + Changes in literary blog + + +
This past year 2010 marked the transition from blog to blog entirely literary, where it was mixed before: loved books and exchange music. In short, 2010 was a course and progressive integration in the blogosphere writing from the imagination. Make a list of all these blogs and all the people with whom I could create links, even minors, over the web would be difficult. Not that the list is huge, but I'd be too afraid of losing one or one of you!
+ + + The authors discovered in 2010 + + +
This past year was marked by the discovery of a number of authors: Robert Charles Wilson, John Fante, Greg Egan Mathias Enard, Cormac McCarthy, Roland C. Wagner, Nicolas Ancion, Stephane Beauverger, Edmond Hamilton, Ayerdhal, Jean-Philippe Jaworski, Richard Brautigan, Brian Aldiss, Connie Willis, Barbara Hambly, Iain M. Banks, Leo Tolstoy, Catherine Dufour, Paul Emond, James Clemens, Yukio Mishima, Ryu Murakami, Lucius Shepard, Loevenbruck Henry, Sarah Ash, Wayne Barrow, John Scalzi, Nicolas Jaillet, Robert Holdstock , and many others. Slightly more than 30 authors.
Besides the authors I read but I already knew as Thomas Day, Pierre Rabhi, Terry Pratchett, Cordwainer Smith, Ted Chiang, HP Lovecraft, Robert Silverberg, Roger Zelazny, Luis Sepulveda, Frank Herbert, GRR Martin Philip K. Dick, Melanie Fazi, Yoko Ogawa, Yasmina Khadra, and Percival Everett . Or 16 authors of more (if my accounts are good).
short a total of over 46 authors read. A little more because There are a few authors whose names are testing are not included, or comics whose authors do not mention it (even chronicled not every time).
The best discovery for me was level author Robert Charles Wilson , and probably the author I had the opportunity to deepen more in the year 2010 through 4 pounds .
and not far behind, There are other authors I have discovered and also that I fell in love like Jean-Philippe Jaworski Ayerdhal, Roland C. Wagner, Iain M. Banks, Robert Holdstock, Nicolas Ancion, ... And I hope to return to the other authors of this list.
This year 2010 also marks the first year of my proofreading with first "Man in the Maze" of Robert Silverberg , "The Man in the High Castle" of PK Dick and "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" of HP Lovecraft .
+ + + My best reads in 2010 + + +
my favorite books in 2010 are not necessarily out of 2010. Part of my books sometimes doing an internship sooner or later in my PAL before being read, while others are opportunities, etc..
short, it says, what were my best reads? What are your picks? My short list:
- "The Chronolithes" by Robert Charles Wilson
- "Spin" by Robert Charles Wilson
- "The Déchronologue" of Stépahne Beauverger
- "The Mythago Wood" by Robert Holdstock
- "Janua Vera Jean-Philippe Jaworski
- "Man Games" by Iain M. Banks
- "We are all Playmobil" by Nicolas Ancion
Ok, I stop my list there. It's not bad in itself.
After counting, it turns out that I have read a minimum of 68 pounds . To this we must add the finish Thursday (Walter Jon Williams) and will be chronicled in 2011, and the few comics that I borrow from the library but I did not chronic. In short, all that to get to the fact that I have come to exceed my personal challenge was to read at least 52 pounds, an average of 1 week. I am very happy and surprised at the volume I've read this past year of 2010.
+ + + + + + Finally
Regarding my personal challenge which aimed to reduce my PAL, well it missed. This has easily doubled in size, but without too much remorse. For cons, I can say that in this batch, I expect a very large quantity of used books. For two reasons, I give a second life to books, and then not having a job, the circuit-hand books gives me a good price.
If you count the fact that my blog was born on 1 August 2008, one might say it begins to age and acquires a certain literary identity. I hope now to continue. Either here on Blogger, or later on a new interface ... We'll see. Anyway, thank you for continuing to follow me!
In the coming days will follow a ticket for my 2011 predictions blog. And a ticket that will cover my stats in response to the tag introduced by William the Star Tracker.
Pending the coming days, keep reading, do not take cold, treat you well and live happy (well, if possible), and much to everyone.
